This is Surrey --

BASKETBALL fans aged over 50 can now take up the sport at a leisurely pace.

The Heat Community Foundation set up the first Walking Basketball sessions in the country last year and is now launching sessions in Redhill from Tuesday.

The hour-long sessions for 50-plus men and women will be led by the former head coach of the Surrey Heat team at Donyngs Leisure Centre in Redhill at 10.30am, with the initial sessions for free.

Heat Community Foundation chairman Lance Havell said: "We have had a strong presence in the Surrey area for some time now.

"It's a pleasure to be able to have the opportunity to be working with Donyngs to promote a healthy lifestyle more widely to other sections of the community."
