Storms headed to Central Florida

The weather story on Monday has two chapters as heat and storms hit Central Florida.

First, the heat, as temperatures reached the 90s for the first time since October. The high in Orlando was 90, Daytona Beach hit 89, and Melbourne set a new record high of 91 on Monday.

The second chapter is the storms on the way. Overnight, a front will move toward Central Florida from the Gulf of Mexico. The rain and storms will arrive just in time for the commute Tuesday morning.

Once the storms pass the afternoon will be much drier. The high will make it back to 78.

On Wednesday, the high will be 78 with a partly sunny sky. Reported by Click Orlando 2 hours ago.
