Calorique, the industry-leading manufacturer of low-cost, energy efficient radiant heat materials for over 30 years, announces their newly expanded Flexwatt Heat Tape product line for reptile industry professionals and hobbyists as a result of their continued focus on research and innovation.
Calorique recently enlarged their research and development team to include Kapil Kulkami, who holds a M.S. in Material Science. “We are focused on optimizing the stability of our patented ink blends to enable us to meet the needs for each of our particular applications,” explains CEO Eugene McGillycuddy. “Kapil is tuning our patented ink blends and extensively testing our materials to ensure we continue to meet the rigorous quality and safety control checks and certifications awarded to us by UL, ETL, and CSA.”
The new product innovation has allowed Calorique to focus on expanding their product portfolio. Flexwatt now offers new sizes and new widths for the heat tape solution. These sizes include two- and six-inch widths, in addition to the existing four-, eleven- and seventeen-inch widths, allowing for more flexibility to meet the needs of our reptile distributors. In addition, a finished mat collection now offers four new finished mat sizes. Flexwatt is the only manufacturer with a full UL listing for a thin-film radiant heat product and provides a 5-year warrantee. Due to the full UL listed product, Flexwatt undergoes ongoing quarterly product and facility audits.
“Our expanded Flexwatt line is the combined result of our focus on quality innovation and requests from our valued customers and suppliers in the reptile industry,” notes McGillycuddy. The finished mats are an ideal solution for hobbyists who aren’t necessarily focused on customizing and building cages, but need a simple, safe and cost-effective application for their reptiles.
“The new mats include the electricity sensing cord, GLCI, which is a self-contained safety measure that is essential to the care of our reptiles,” highlights David Pellettiere, a Flexwatt sales representative and keeper and breeder of reptiles for over 25 years. “My fellow reptile enthusiasts and breeders rely on the stability and safety features of the Flexwatt product line. The tin-plated copper buss bars in the Flexwatt heat tape prevent oxidation at the connection points, even with high humidity levels, so our reptiles are guaranteed warmth and safety. Knowing that Flexwatt is the safest, most advanced and most energy efficient solution is what has kept me as a customer for over 20 years now. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Flexwatt team and see this product expansion line. Calorique’s ability to customize and service our reptile industry with quality solutions is what makes them the best.”
